DIVE is also hosting a sensational day party summer 2011 called Souleil Sunday’s where they are bringing world renowned artists such as: Lisa Shaw, Mark Grant, Marques Wyatt, and Oscar P.
DJ ALA
Mastermind behind one of San Diego’s longest running deep house nights, DIVE, DJ ALA has been a driving force in the west coast house music community. Through the evolution of DIVE, ALA has been instrumental in bringing world-renowned talent to San Diego, which gave him the opportunity to play alongside such House luminaries as Roy Davis Jr., Jask, Louie Vega, Marques Wyatt, Jojoflores, Alix Alvarez, Halo, Mark Grant, Lisa Shaw, Tortured Soul, Miguel Migs, and more.
With early success of his compilation series Mar Del Sol and G Lounge and now as host of the popular show, Dive Radio, ALA has built a solid tour resume. From San Francisco to Paris, ALA has graced the decks of many notable hotspots like DEEP (LA), Cielo (NYC), End Up (SF), Lotus Bar (Honolulu), Djoon (Paris), Clevelander (Miami), Fortune Sound Club (Vancouver), and Boom Boom Room (Chicago) to name a few. His illustrious DJ career also includes a growing list of gigs at world-renowned events and venues in such cities as Manila, Bordeaux, Royan, Montreal, Boracay, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and more.
Mikeytown
Peter Michael Abat, aka Mikeytown’s, exposure to house music began in the early 90’s with such artists as C&C Music Factory, Jomanda, and Jungle Brother’s track “Ill House You”. What first captivated his interest in house music was listening to Tony Humphrey sets on the radio station KISS FM, broadcasting from New York City. House music became a way of life for Mikeytown when he moved to the West Coast in 1998.
In sunny San Diego, Mikeytown teamed up with DIVE’s DJ ALA in a mission to bring truly soulful house music to the people. Since joining the DIVE crew, Mikeytown has had the privilege to play alongside such DJ’s as: Jaime Thines, Karizma, Marques Wyatt, JoJo Flores, Julius the Mad Thinker, and many others whom he looks up to.
It is through his music that Mikeytown invites everyone into his world in hopes that they will experience what house music means to him… spirituality, uplifting and soul cleansing. Music is Mikeytown’s religion….House is his church.
